One of my favorite under-the-radar changes in iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 is a single screen for managing the default apps on your iPhone and iPad. A default app is the one that opens automatically for a particular job, like opening a web link or filling in a saved password. Previously, the only way to change a default app was inside that app’s own settings. Now you can go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps and see all your options in one place.
The Calling and Messaging options are new in 18.2, though Apple has not yet allowed any third-party apps into those lists. This screen is not a huge deal on its own, but I wanted to use it as a reminder: alternatives to Mail and Safari might suit you better, and now they are easier to set.
